This was a frequent "hot spot" for Marilyn early in her career. She had been approached and photographed here in 47' back in her Norma Jeane days by Bruno Bernard. This photoshoot was taken by Bruno couple years later again by the pool. Bruno was then earn the nickname "Bernard of Hollywood" since every actress now wanted to work with him.
This photo is not date stamped but has a later Globe Photos stamp from the 1960's where they have credited "Bruno Bernard" in handwritting in the stamp. This would make complete sense because in the early 1950's Bernard was arrested on obscenity charges that went all the way up to the U.
As a part of his defense he presented a letter from then-General Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was a fan of Bernard's pinup photography. The letter thanked Bernard for the morale-building effect of his pinups during World War II.Bernard would move to Germany in the early 1960s to shoot photoshoots for German magazines. This photo measures 8 X 10 inches and is in Good Condition. There is a couple small crease across the top left corner along with a couple creases on the right border and top border. This is a stunning famous photo and one of my favorites of Marilyn! Please contact me if you have anymore questions about the photo since ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
