Artist bio: Born in New York City in 1923, Frank Worth's introduction to Hollywood came with his first job in a trial position as a photographer for the International News Service. After a successful career and earning a rapport within the celebrity community, Worth became a member of the Hollywood Photographers Guild. Worth became close friends with some of the biggest names in Silver Screen History - James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jayne Mansfield, and Jerry Lewis. Perhaps one of his most famous photos is the iconic shot of Marilyn Monroe standing over a New York subway vent with her white dress blowing in the air stream. Worth captured and retained extensive collections of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean photographs, many of which have never been seen and most of which are some of his best pieces of work.Just before his death Worth admitted to the affair he had with Monroe. Like his private life, many of his best images have been kept to himself. The item "Marilyn Monroe & Ralph Edwards 1958, Original Frank Worth Photograph" is in sale since Friday, March 30, 2018.
